Circle for Integrated Community Development (CICOD) is a national non-profit making non-governmental organisation registered with Malawi government under Trustees Incorporation Act in 2004. CICOD was set up in 2002 by community development activists to empower local communities to determine their own development needs through active participation. CICOD’s head office is in Lilongwe with its impact areas in different districts. CICOD has 32 members of staff who are based at the head office in Lilongwe and in the district offices.  

 

Mission

CICOD exists to empower the poor, vulnerable and marginalized communities and households to take a leading and active role in challenging and reducing poverty using integrated rights-based programming

 

IMPACT AREAS 

Currently, CICOD is working in 7 local authorities across the country including

Chikwawa, Phalombe, Dowa, Ntchisi, Mchinji, Kasungu and Blantyre city. CICOD has also worked in Thyolo, Mulanje, Ntcheu, Karonga, Dedza, Mangochi, Salima Machinga, Lilongwe (district and city), Balaka, and Mzuzu
